Our Club offers 3 programs in Learn to Skate. KinderSkateCanSkate  and Pre StarSkate. Each program runs a tested and proven curriculum, that will guarantee skater success. Skaters will develop strong skating skills in an enjoyable and engaging environment. We expect skaters to progress at their own rate, well having fun to upbeat music and a wide variety of activities. Leaside Skating Club strives to create a motivational environment and promote learning.

Program Assistants

The Program Assistants work with our professional coaching staff during the Kinderskate Canskate and PreStar Skate Sessions to help ensure that the programs run smoothly. These young assistants are volunteers drawn from the ranks of our more advanced skaters. They all participate in formal training sessions throughout the season and are very committed to the Club.

If you would like to become a program assistant or have any questions about these assistants, please contact the Administrator, Lisa Patreau.

This program is for skaters aged 3 to 6 years old with little or no skating experience. Our trained coaches encourage children to stand, balance and walk/glide forward on their own through fun and engaging activities. Skaters are grouped by age and/or ability and as skaters begin to skate on their own, will begin to progress through the CanSkate stages.
