This program is for skaters aged 3 to 6 years old with little or no skating experience. Our trained coaches encourage children to stand, balance and walk/glide forward on their own through fun and engaging activities. Skaters are grouped by age and/or ability and as skaters begin to skate on their own, will begin to progress through the CanSkate stages.

  • 3 to 6 years old (by Dec 31st, 2023)
  • Beginners (No previous skating experience is required)
  • Skaters have not passed Stage 2
  • Skater/coach ratio 1:6
  • One 30 minute session per week (10 minute instructor led large group warm up, 20 minute small group lesson)
Attire:
  • All participants must provide their own skates and helmets. Snow pants or waterproof pants are recommended as some skaters start by sitting on the ice. Mittens/gloves are strongly suggested.
  • All Skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet as per Skate Canada 2017. No other helmet (Ski Helmet, Winter Sports helmet, Bike helmet, etc) will be accepted and skaters will not be permitted on the ice without a CSA approved hockey helmet.
  • When purchasing skates, we recommend skaters wear skates with laces (hockey of figure skates.) Plastic skates with buckles have been found to be difficult for skaters to learn in.

Fees are prorated once season starts and will be reflected during the registration process.
